Public Works Committee
Meeting Minutes
January 19, 2012 – 6:30 PM
The Public Works Committee meeting was called to order at 6:30 PM by President Moeri.
Present: Rand Waughtal, Peter Tharp, Willard Moeri, Scott Lamson, Steve Melby and Willard
Moeri.
Absent: Glenn Hall
Visitors: John Bond and Frank Phillips
The Meeting was properly noticed and posted in three locations in the Village of Roberts.
- Joint Maintenance of Roads
Mike Kamm and John met regarding the Maintenance of roads. They agreed the Village of Roberts would maintain all of Division St, and the east side of 70th Ave. The Town of Warren would maintain all of Badlands, 130th and the west side of 70th Ave. If there is growth due to new businesses, the Village of Roberts would take over the west side of 70th Ave. When seal coating, crack filling or patch work is necessary they would use the WISLR Report to determine what percentage the Village of Roberts and the Town of Warren would pay. Mike and John would like to have these quotes before the budget year.
Frank Phillips will bring in the agreement that the Town of Warren has with the Village of Hammond next month so the committee can go over it before writing up a policy.
- Twin Lakes Monitoring Wells
Frank Phillips asked if the Village would mind if a student from UWRF could monitor the wells. John had some concerns with the forms the property owners had signed they state that the wells would be abandoned December 31st 2012. Frank will get more information together before the February meeting.
- Sewer us Ordinance Review
John and Angie are updating the ordinance, should the new services be charges as impact fees or by the meter size.
Should the wording be changed for a business that hooks up with a meter but eventually needs to have a larger one installed should there be a charge?
John will talk to Hammond and see what options they have.
Angie and John will meet with Bill Radosevich to get the ordinance changed before the next meeting.
